Deserved Comfort House Cleaning vs Sparkle and Shine Cleaning Company: which fits eco-friendly cleaning?
Both of these Columbia cleaners score well overall, but neither review set explicitly documents green product use, so picking for eco-friendly cleaning means reading between the lines of who they clean for and how they operate. This comparison, built with our methodology, looks at household focus, staff consistency, and scale to help you decide which one is more likely to accommodate a green-cleaning request.
The differences that matter
- Household vs mixed commercial focus. Deserved Comfort centers on residential homes with pets and kids, the kind of setting where eco-friendly product requests come up most and get remembered by name; Sparkle and Shine splits its work across offices, churches, medical facilities, and retail alongside homes, so green-product customization for a single household may get less individual attention.
- Named technician continuity. Deserved Comfort's reviews repeatedly name individual techs (Tammy, Leslie, Rachel, Jessi, Briana), suggesting you could request the same person who knows your green-product preferences each visit; Sparkle and Shine's praise centers on owner Libby's responsiveness rather than a bench of named cleaners.
- Direct owner access for special requests. Sparkle and Shine's reviews emphasize owner Libby personally handling scheduling and accommodation, which could make it easier to negotiate specific green-product or fragrance-free requirements directly with the person in charge.
- Track record and scale. Sparkle and Shine has run for 29 years and holds a perfect 5.0 rating over 117 reviews, showing long-term consistency; Deserved Comfort has a slightly higher composite score (92.8 vs 91.3) and more review volume (348), giving it a broader base of recent feedback.

What reviewers say
Deserved Comfort House Cleaning
Long-term clients return year after year, praising individual technicians by name and noting that staff show up on time with the right supplies and finish the job completely. Most reviews highlight extra touches: making beds, vacuuming pet furniture, straightening photos, working around kids and animals without complaint.
Staff inconsistency surfaces in one complaint about supply requirements not being disclosed before booking, and one customer's frustration when a vacuum issue left part of the house uncleaned. The office handles reschedules smoothly, and repeated clients report they rarely come home to anything lacking after training the team on their preferences.
Sparkle and Shine Cleaning Company
Over 29 years in business, Sparkle and Shine delivers consistent, thorough cleaning across offices, retail, medical facilities, and homes. Owner Libby and her team earn trust through proactive problem-solving, fast communication, and willingness to adjust schedules on short notice.
Which should you pick?
Pick Deserved Comfort House Cleaning if
- You want the same trusted technician returning each visit to remember your green-product preferences
- Your home has pets or kids and you want a service known for extra care around them
- You value a slightly larger, more recent body of reviews backing consistency
Pick Sparkle and Shine Cleaning Company if
- You'd rather negotiate special requests like green products directly with the owner
- You need cleaning for a mixed setting (office, church, medical facility) alongside your home
- You want a provider with a multi-decade track record of adapting to unusual requests
Verdict
Neither business explicitly documents eco-friendly or green cleaning products in their reviews, so the deciding factor is who is more likely to accommodate that request reliably. If you want a familiar face who learns your home's preferences over repeat visits, Deserved Comfort House Cleaning fits better given its named-technician consistency and pet/family focus. If you'd rather deal directly with an owner who has decades of experience adapting to specific client needs across many settings, Sparkle and Shine Cleaning Company and owner Libby are the safer bet for negotiating custom requests. Either way, confirm actual product use before booking since it isn't verified in the data.
