Website terms of use
Terms of Service
Effective Date: July 19, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of ColumbiaSCCleaning.com, including its forms, directory listings, cleaning-service requests, communications, and related services.
ColumbiaSCCleaning.com is operated by ColumbiaSCCleaning Co. doing business as Columbia SC Cleaning, referred to in these Terms as “Columbia SC Cleaning,” “Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our.”
By accessing the website, submitting a service request, requesting a quote, creating or claiming a listing, posting a review, booking a service, or otherwise using the website, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.
Do not use the website if you do not agree to these Terms.
1. Our Website and Business Model
Columbia SC Cleaning operates a commercial website that helps users find and request cleaning services in Columbia, South Carolina, and surrounding areas.
These terms apply to Columbia Cleaning Service Guide, an independent directory of cleaning service businesses in Columbia published by Columbia Cleaning Service Guide. Every score on the site is computed from public review data using one published rubric (see how we rank); no business pays to be listed or scored. Using the site means you accept these terms.
What listings and scores mean
Listings and scores are information, not an endorsement or a recommendation. Business details can change faster than any directory updates, so confirm the specifics (availability, pricing, credentials, insurance) directly with a business before engaging it. We work to keep the data accurate but do not guarantee it is complete, current, or error-free.
Enquiries and referral fees
This site may route enquiries to listed businesses or partners and may receive referral fees for doing so. Fees never affect scores or rankings: those are computed from public review data under the published rubric, and no payment can change them.
Listing corrections and removals
If your business is listed on this site and a detail is wrong, or you want to dispute a score or request removal, the process is set out in our listing policy.
Acceptable use
Use the site to research businesses and send genuine enquiries. Scraping or republishing the compiled directory content, submitting false enquiries, interfering with the site’s operation, and any unlawful use are all prohibited.
Intellectual property
Columbia Cleaning Service Guide owns the compilation: the editorial text, scores, summaries, and the way the directory is assembled and presented. Source reviews stay with their authors on the platforms they were written on, and business names and marks remain the property of the businesses themselves.
Depending on the circumstances, we may:
- Display information about local cleaning companies and cleaning professionals.
- Collect service requests and customer leads.
- Match consumers with local cleaning businesses or independent cleaning professionals.
- Sell, license, assign, or otherwise transfer service requests and lead information to selected local providers.
- Receive referral fees, advertising fees, lead fees, commissions, or other compensation from cleaning providers.
- Arrange cleaning services through employees, subcontractors, independent contractors, affiliates, or third-party service providers.
- Directly accept, schedule, manage, bill for, or fulfill certain cleaning-service requests.
Columbia SC Cleaning is therefore not necessarily a neutral or comprehensive directory. Some listings may be sponsored, featured, affiliated, paid, or connected to a referral or lead-purchase arrangement.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that a provider will be available, that you will receive a quote, or that a cleaning appointment will be scheduled.
2. Directory Services Versus Direct Cleaning Services
Our role may differ from one service request to another.
Directory or referral role
When we refer your request to an independently operated cleaning provider, that provider—not Columbia SC Cleaning—is responsible for:
- Evaluating the requested work.
- Providing or confirming an estimate.
- Determining availability.
- Entering into a service agreement with you.
- Performing the cleaning service.
- Supervising its workers.
- Handling payments, cancellations, refunds, damage claims, and customer-service issues related to its work.
Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, independent providers are not our employees, agents, partners, or representatives.
Direct service role
For some requests, Columbia SC Cleaning may directly provide, arrange, supervise, schedule, or bill for cleaning services using our employees, contractors, subcontractors, or affiliated providers.
When we directly accept a job, the booking confirmation, estimate, invoice, work order, cancellation policy, or other service-specific agreement may contain additional terms. Those service-specific terms supplement these Terms and control over these Terms only where they directly conflict regarding that particular cleaning job.
We may decide, in our discretion, whether to handle a service request directly or refer it to another provider.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to submit a service request or book cleaning services.
By using the website, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- The information you provide is accurate.
- You have authority to request services at the property identified in your request.
- Your use of the website complies with applicable law.
4. Service Requests and Lead Information
When you submit a service request, you may be asked to provide information such as:
- Your name.
- Email address.
- Telephone number.
- Property address or service area.
- Property type.
- Cleaning needs.
- Desired service date.
- Frequency of service.
- Photographs or descriptions of the property.
- Access instructions.
- Other information relevant to the requested service.
You agree to provide complete and accurate information. You must not impersonate another person, submit another person’s contact information without authorization, or submit false or fraudulent requests.
We may contact you to clarify your request, confirm your information, determine your needs, provide an estimate, schedule an appointment, or connect you with a provider.
We may reject, suspend, or close any request that appears fraudulent, unsafe, incomplete, abusive, outside our service area, or otherwise unsuitable.
5. Consent to Share Service Requests
By submitting a service request, you authorize Columbia SC Cleaning to use and share the information you provide for the purpose of responding to your request and helping arrange cleaning services.
This may include sharing, selling, licensing, assigning, or transferring your name, contact information, service address, cleaning needs, and related request information to one or more:
- Local cleaning businesses.
- Independent cleaning professionals.
- Employees or subcontractors.
- Scheduling or customer-service providers.
- Affiliates.
- Service providers selected to respond to or fulfill your request.
The providers receiving your request may independently contact you and may maintain their own records concerning your request.
We will not represent that your information will remain only with Columbia SC Cleaning when the purpose of the form is to match you with or obtain responses from local providers.
Our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information are also governed by our Privacy Policy.
6. Telephone, Text Message, and Email Communications
By submitting your contact information, you authorize Columbia SC Cleaning and the selected cleaning providers receiving your request to contact you about that request by telephone, text message, and email.
Communications may include:
- Questions about your cleaning needs.
- Quote or estimate information.
- Scheduling messages.
- Appointment reminders.
- Service updates.
- Follow-up communications.
- Requests for feedback.
- Related offers for cleaning services.
Where permitted by law and where you have provided any required consent, communications may be sent using automated dialing, automated messaging, prerecorded messages, or similar technology.
Your consent to receive marketing communications is not a condition of purchasing a service.
Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency may vary.
You may opt out of promotional text messages by replying STOP. You may opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe link in the email. Opting out of promotional communications does not prevent us or a provider from sending non-promotional communications concerning an active request, appointment, transaction, or safety issue.
Where a service-request form contains a separate communication-consent disclosure or checkbox, that disclosure is incorporated into these Terms.
7. Provider Listings and Verification
We attempt to provide useful directory information, but we do not guarantee that every listing is complete, current, accurate, or suitable for your needs.
Unless a listing expressly states otherwise, you should not assume that Columbia SC Cleaning has independently verified a provider’s:
- Identity.
- Ownership.
- Experience.
- Qualifications.
- Licensing.
- Registration.
- Insurance.
- Bonding.
- Background checks.
- Employee screening.
- Pricing.
- Availability.
- Service quality.
- Legal compliance.
A provider’s inclusion, ranking, placement, badge, profile, or appearance on the website does not necessarily constitute an endorsement or guarantee.
Consumers are responsible for conducting their own reasonable evaluation of a provider before allowing that provider to enter a property or perform work.
8. Sponsored and Featured Listings
Some providers may pay for:
- Featured placement.
- Sponsored listings.
- Advertising.
- Leads.
- Referrals.
- Enhanced profiles.
- Exclusive service areas.
- Other promotional benefits.
Sponsored or paid relationships may affect where or how a provider appears on the website.
We may receive compensation whether or not you ultimately hire a provider. Unless expressly stated, you are not charged a separate directory or referral fee merely for submitting a request.
9. Quotes and Estimates
Any price displayed on the website or communicated before the property and requested work have been fully evaluated is an estimate only.
The final price may depend on factors including:
- Property size and condition.
- Number of rooms.
- Amount of clutter.
- Presence of pets.
- Requested cleaning tasks.
- Required supplies or equipment.
- Travel distance.
- Parking or access conditions.
- Hazardous or unsanitary conditions.
- Frequency of service.
- Additional work requested at the property.
- Information that was inaccurate or omitted when the estimate was requested.
A provider may revise or withdraw an estimate before beginning work if the actual conditions or requested services differ materially from the information originally provided.
You are not obligated to accept a revised price unless work has already been authorized under an applicable booking or service agreement.
10. Bookings, Payments, and Cancellations
A service request is not a confirmed appointment unless you receive confirmation from Columbia SC Cleaning or the provider responsible for the job.
When payment is collected through Columbia SC Cleaning, you agree to pay the price, applicable taxes, and disclosed fees associated with the booking.
If a payment card or other payment method is provided, you authorize the applicable charges that are clearly disclosed and approved in connection with the service.
Cancellation, rescheduling, deposit, no-show, refund, or recurring-service terms may be presented during booking or in your service confirmation. You agree to any such terms when you confirm the applicable booking.
We will not charge a cancellation, rescheduling, or no-show fee unless that fee or policy was disclosed before the charge became applicable.
When payment is made directly to an independent provider, that provider’s payment and refund terms apply.
11. Recurring Services
If you request weekly, biweekly, monthly, or other recurring cleaning services, the frequency, price, billing method, and cancellation process will be disclosed during booking or in a separate service confirmation.
Unless expressly disclosed and agreed to, submitting an initial service request does not automatically enroll you in a recurring paid service.
You may cancel future recurring appointments according to the cancellation instructions provided with your booking. Charges already incurred for completed services remain payable.
12. Property Access and Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing safe and lawful access to the property at the scheduled time.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate entry and access instructions.
- Obtain permission from the property owner when necessary.
- Secure pets that may interfere with or endanger workers.
- Identify fragile, valuable, damaged, or sensitive items.
- Inform the provider of alarms, cameras, restricted areas, or unusual access conditions.
- Disclose known hazards before work begins.
- Ensure utilities needed for the service are available.
- Remove or secure cash, jewelry, firearms, medications, confidential documents, and unusually valuable items.
- Avoid requesting work that is unlawful, dangerous, or outside the agreed scope.
You are responsible for the accuracy of any access codes, lockbox instructions, alarm instructions, or key information you provide.
13. Unsafe or Excluded Conditions
A cleaner or provider may refuse, suspend, or stop work if conditions are unsafe, unlawful, materially different from those disclosed, or outside the provider’s capabilities.
Examples may include:
- Active infestations.
- Human or animal waste beyond ordinary household cleaning.
- Blood, bodily fluids, needles, or biohazards.
- Hazardous chemicals.
- Suspected asbestos, lead, or toxic materials.
- Significant mold.
- Hoarding conditions.
- Structural instability.
- Aggressive animals.
- Unsecured firearms or weapons.
- Illegal substances or activity.
- Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or sexually inappropriate conduct.
- Lack of required electricity, water, ventilation, or safe access.
A provider may recommend a specialized remediation, restoration, pest-control, hazardous-material, or other professional service instead.
14. Damage, Breakage, and Service Concerns
Customers should report suspected damage, missing property, breakage, or material service concerns as soon as reasonably possible after discovering the issue.
A report should include:
- The customer’s name and service date.
- A description of the concern.
- Photographs when available.
- The approximate value and age of damaged property.
- Any other information reasonably needed to investigate.
Reporting an issue does not guarantee reimbursement, replacement, refund, or other compensation. Claims will be evaluated based on the circumstances, available evidence, applicable service terms, provider responsibility, insurance coverage, and applicable law.
For work performed by an independent provider, claims generally must be directed to that provider. We may assist with communication but do not guarantee the provider’s response or resolution.
Nothing in these Terms eliminates rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived.
15. Reviews and User-Submitted Content
The website may allow users to post reviews, comments, photographs, provider information, or other content.
You may submit content only when:
- It reflects your genuine firsthand experience.
- It is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
- You have the right to submit it.
- It does not violate another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights.
- It is not fraudulent, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, obscene, or unlawful.
You must not:
- Submit fake reviews.
- Review a provider you have not used.
- Impersonate another customer.
- Offer or accept compensation conditioned on a positive or negative review.
- Submit reviews written by artificial or fictitious persons.
- Coordinate reviews intended to artificially manipulate ratings.
- Threaten a provider with a negative review to obtain money, free services, or another improper benefit.
We may moderate, reject, remove, or restrict content that violates these Terms, appears fraudulent, contains personal information, is unrelated to a firsthand experience, or creates legal or safety concerns.
We will not remove an otherwise lawful and authentic review merely because it expresses a negative opinion.
By submitting content, you grant Columbia SC Cleaning a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, reproduce, display, format, distribute, and use that content in connection with operating and promoting the website and its services.
16. Provider Accounts and Claimed Listings
Providers may be permitted to create accounts, claim profiles, update listings, purchase advertising, or receive service requests.
Providers agree that all listing information they submit will be truthful, current, and not misleading.
Providers must not falsely claim:
- Licenses.
- Insurance coverage.
- Bonding.
- Certifications.
- Awards.
- Experience.
- Background checks.
- Locations.
- Employees.
- Customer reviews.
- Affiliations.
Providers are solely responsible for complying with laws applicable to their businesses, workers, advertising, communications, taxes, insurance, and services.
We may suspend, modify, refuse, or remove provider listings that appear inaccurate, deceptive, inactive, unsafe, unlawful, or inconsistent with our policies.
17. Acceptable Use
You may not use the website to:
- Submit fraudulent or fictitious service requests.
- Harass providers, customers, workers, or staff.
- Collect information for unauthorized marketing.
- Scrape or copy directory data using automated tools.
- Interfere with website security or operation.
- Upload malware or harmful code.
- Attempt unauthorized access to accounts or systems.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
- Violate intellectual-property rights.
- Post unlawful or abusive content.
- Use the website for discriminatory, exploitative, or illegal purposes.
- Reverse engineer or reproduce protected portions of the website.
- Manipulate listings, rankings, reviews, inquiries, or analytics.
We may block access, remove content, close requests, suspend listings, or take other reasonable action when these Terms are violated.
18. Intellectual Property
The website and its original content, including its branding, design, text, graphics, logos, directory structure, software, service descriptions, and compilation of information, are owned by or licensed to Columbia SC Cleaning and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may use the website for personal, noncommercial purposes related to finding or requesting cleaning services.
You may not copy, republish, sell, license, scrape, distribute, modify, or commercially exploit protected website content without our prior written permission.
Business names, trademarks, photographs, and content belonging to listed providers remain the property of their respective owners.
19. Third-Party Websites and Services
The website may contain links to provider websites, social-media accounts, maps, payment systems, scheduling platforms, advertisements, or other third-party services.
We do not control and are not responsible for third-party websites, privacy practices, security, content, availability, pricing, or conduct.
Your use of third-party services is governed by the terms and policies of those third parties.
20. No Professional Advice
Information on the website is provided for general informational and directory purposes.
Nothing on the website constitutes legal, insurance, tax, employment, environmental, remediation, health, safety, or other professional advice.
You should consult an appropriately qualified professional regarding specialized hazards or concerns.
21. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the website and directory services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not warrant that:
- The website will always be available or error-free.
- Every listing will be accurate or current.
- A provider will respond to a request.
- A particular provider will be suitable.
- A quote will be the lowest available price.
- Cleaning services will achieve a particular result.
- Every provider or worker will meet your expectations.
- Website communications will be uninterrupted or secure.
Nothing in this section excludes warranties or consumer protections that cannot legally be disclaimed.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Columbia SC Cleaning and its owners, officers, employees, affiliates, contractors, and representatives will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from use of the website, a provider listing, a referral, a missed appointment, loss of data, lost profits, or the conduct of an independent provider.
For claims arising solely from directory or referral services, our total liability will not exceed the greater of:
- The amount you paid directly to Columbia SC Cleaning for the directory or referral service giving rise to the claim; or
- One hundred dollars.
For a claim arising from a cleaning service directly sold and provided by Columbia SC Cleaning, our total contractual liability will not exceed the amount paid for the specific cleaning service giving rise to the claim, except where a different limitation is stated in the applicable service agreement or where such limitation is prohibited by law.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability arising from fraud, willful misconduct, or other conduct for which limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
23. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold Columbia SC Cleaning and its owners, officers, employees, affiliates, and representatives harmless from third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses resulting from:
- Your fraudulent or unlawful use of the website.
- Information or content you submit.
- Your violation of another person’s rights.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Unsafe conditions you knowingly failed to disclose.
- Your lack of authority to request access to or services at a property.
This provision does not require you to indemnify Columbia SC Cleaning for its own negligence, unlawful conduct, or willful misconduct.
24. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, protect, and disclose personal information.
The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference. When there is a conflict concerning the treatment of personal information, the Privacy Policy controls.
25. Electronic Communications
You agree that website submissions, electronic confirmations, emails, text messages, and other electronic communications may satisfy legal requirements that communications be in writing, to the extent permitted by law.
You are responsible for maintaining a current email address and telephone number when you have an active request or booking.
26. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the website, close a service request, remove content, or deactivate a provider listing when reasonably necessary to:
- Enforce these Terms.
- Protect users, workers, or providers.
- Prevent fraud or abuse.
- Address legal or security concerns.
- Discontinue a service.
- Respond to suspected unlawful activity.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain effective, including intellectual-property, disclaimer, liability, indemnification, and dispute provisions.
27. Changes to the Website and Terms
We may modify the website, directory, service model, features, service area, or these Terms.
When material changes are made, we will update the effective date and post the revised Terms on the website. We may provide additional notice when required by law.
Changes apply prospectively from the updated effective date. Continued use of the website after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those revised Terms.
28. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Before filing a lawsuit concerning these Terms, the parties agree to make a reasonable, good-faith attempt to resolve the dispute informally. A written notice should describe the dispute and the requested resolution.
If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, any legal proceeding must be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction over Richland County, South Carolina, unless applicable law requires a different forum.
Either party may bring an eligible claim in small claims court.
Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking emergency injunctive relief or filing a complaint with an appropriate government agency.
29. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed only to the minimum extent necessary. The remaining provisions will continue in effect.
30. No Waiver
A failure to enforce any provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that provision or of the right to enforce it later.
31. Entire Agreement
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any applicable booking confirmation, estimate, work order, provider agreement, cancellation policy, or service-specific terms constitute the agreement concerning your use of the website and applicable services.
